Originally from the Kitsap Peninsula in western Washington, Rachel grew up trekking through the woods with her grandpa or assisting on the job site she was often engaged in volunteer work with her family. Rachel was raised by her Grandparents who owned an interesting combination of local business; fish and game club, construction company and local arts center. Her Grandparents were committed community members who regularly supported the work of various community non-profit organizations. This is in part the reason for her passion for serving others and life long commitment to being a part of making a difference in her community. For more than twenty-five years Rachel has served her communities in various ways including as a board member, mentor, treasurer, work crew volunteer and director.
Rachel has moved several times, mainly around the west coast as a military wife. During that time, she has founded, developed and sold three businesses focused on local resources. Her husband, Mark, served in the Air Force both in the US and overseas. Mark and Rachel had been dreaming of moving to Northern Idaho and making it their home for several years and have finally made the move in 2024. Together they are raising two school aged community advocates and have five adult children. Rachel has a variety of interests including reading, the arts (especially culinary) and gardening. She is partial to spending time outdoors exploring the beauty of nature, especially with family and their black lab named Willie Nelson.
Rachel couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the community here in Northern Idaho and welcomes your communication and connection.
