Spring Dash is growing!
United Way of North Idaho is excited to announce a bigger and better partnership with Cascadia Timing who has taken the Spring Dash to new distances: 5k, 10k and a half marathon!
Same great cause, same gorgeous start spot, still a Bloomsday qualifier, just more options for our Dashers!
So, mark your calendars for April 26, 2025 because we're running! Registration is open!
The History.
Since 1982, Spring Dash has been the kickoff to the running season. Over the years, the event has been a fun run, a second-seeding qualifier for Bloomsday, a family "tot trot" and a great community event. It's only getting bigger and better, join us!

The Courses.
All courses are out and back on paved surfaces with the start and finish at the McEuen Park pavilion. These are relatively flat and fast courses that take in the scenic beauty of Lake Couer d'Alene....one of the true gems of North Idaho! The 5K, 10K and half marathon courses are USATF certified. See the course maps on the registration page (button link above).
The Cause.
Who is ALICE?
ALICE refers to the population in our communities that are Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. The ALICE population represents those among us who are working but due to child care costs, transportation challenges, high cost of living, and so much more, are living paycheck to paycheck.
They are working hard, but falling short of what they need to consistently cover the basic costs of living. Unable to save for the future, they are vulnerable to a single emergency that can push them into crisis and even poverty.
Learn more about ALICE and see county-specific data here.
We invite you to band together with us. We are joining forces for people in need right here in our community.
Don't forget to tag us on social media along your journey! #SpringDashCDA and #RunForALICE
