Originally from the greater Frankfurt area in Germany, Nicky often uses her degree in business economics (concentration in logistics) to think about economic impact. She is a bilingual military spouse and has lived and raised a family in many places across the US and the world. She has worked to support military spouse organizations on post and off, and led a non-profit for tech users and creators in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia for 20+ years. She reads, listens, and communicates across the (political) aisle, loves to throw and glaze pottery, and nowadays, is a devoted brown Labrador owner. In 2022, she moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, with her husband Nick. Talking about education, STEM, or local nonprofit needs over a German meal she prepared and is serving with a good wheat beer delights her.
