Nicky Swayne

Community Impact Manager
208-667-8112 ext. 108

Originally from the greater Frankfurt area in Germany, Nicky often uses her degree in business economics (concentration in logistics) to think about economic impact. She is a bilingual military spouse and has lived and raised a family in many places across the US and the world. She has worked to support military spouse organizations on post and off and led a non-profit for tech users and creators in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia for 20+ years. She reads, listens, and communicates across the (political) aisle, loves to throw and glaze pottery, and nowadays, is a devoted brown Labrador owner.

In 2022, she moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, with her husband Nick. Talking about education, STEM, or local nonprofit needs over a German meal she prepared delights her. Since moving to northern Idaho, she has gotten to know—and connected with—many people and organizations in the region and volunteers for nonprofits. She likes to explore and conceive of ways to support the United Way's impact areas of Healthy Communities, Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Community Resilience.
